Born and raised in the heart of Ensley, Alabama, I have always found solace and inspiration in two key aspects of life: food and creativity. However, it was the recent passing of my older brother and a seemingly insignificant issue with my “energy efficient” stove that unexpectedly sparked an epiphany within me. In that moment, I was compelled to pause and truly contemplate my existence, realizing that there was a deeper purpose waiting to be unraveled. As I stood there, gazing at the stove's temperature continuing to go up extremely high burning my damn cake, my mind began to wander to a future where I could make a profound impact not only on myself but also on the world around me. It was as if the faulty appliance disguise as “energy efficient” was a metaphor for the limitations, I had unknowingly placed upon myself, preventing me from fully embracing my potential. From that point forward, I made a conscious decision to break the generational curses that had plagued my family for decades. I yearned to find myself once again, to reconnect with the childhood version of me that was brimming with boundless creativity and unwavering confidence. I realized that it was time to trust my voice, to let it soar without fear of judgment or rejection.

As I got deeper into the realms of self-care and personal growth, I discovered the transformative power of self-reflection. Embracing the joy of the journey, I made a conscious decision to no longer allow depression and the weight of my past to haunt me. Instead, I chose to focus on the present and the limitless possibilities that lay ahead. Traveling became my compass and I found it to be necessary to tap into the things that I enjoyed as a child. Fashion, poetry, cooking and all things informative! All the things I put on the back burner!

With that being said, I am filled with a profound sense of purpose and an unwavering belief in my abilities. I am no longer confined by the limitations of my upbringing or the doubts that once plagued my mind. Instead, I stand tall, armed with the knowledge that I am worthy of greatness and deserving of all the opportunities that come my way. So, as I strive to create a future that is as vibrant and limitless as my imagination, I do so with a newfound clarity and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of self-belief. I am breaking free from the shackles of self-doubt and stepping into a world where my voice is not only heard but celebrated.
